Job Description:
DNS/DHCP administration using Lucent Vital QIP tool.
Utilize various network tools and resources to verify / validate existing and missing data from the QIP system. This can range from subnets, IP addresses, DNS names, DHCP scopes and options. Also, remove any legacy data from the QIP system that does not exist on the network.
Upgrade the QIP application to the current Lucent version.
Reconfigure various aspects of the QIP system to meet the requirements of current and emerging technologies (DDNS, VoIP, Wireless), while maintaining client Configuration standards.
Our client manufactures its pharmaceutical, bio-pharmaceutical, consumer and vaccine products in facilities all over the world. client manages their DNS and DHCP infrastructure at a global level, using Lucent Vital QIP. Various changes in the networking environment over the span of several years have allowed the QIP system to fall behind in its level if accuracy compared to the actual state of the network. Emerging technologies such as Wireless and Voice over IP require us to re-evaluate and change some of the settings and practices that have been followed inside of the QIP application. An effort has begun to identify the areas within QIP that require corrective action. The resulting list of work will define the tasks for a contractor to complete.
