Job description:
* The primary responsibilities in this role are:
* Continue scaling Linux c beyond the current operational environment of 512p SSI
* Work with Core Software Engineer to develop new middleware software which would enhance systems operations
* Debug and analyze all Kernel failures and file or fix all bugs identified
* Job Requirements:
* The candidate must have experience in the following areas.
* BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electronics and/or equivalent experience.
* At least 5 years of system administration experience and problem solving skills with Linux.
* Direct experience with working in a large HPC customer environments.
* Sound understanding of system administration, capacity management, and interoperability of the following types of software applications: NIS, NFS CXFS (or equivalent shared file management) XVM (large file system management) DMF
* (HSM equivalent) Tape management system
* Networking experience with both Cisco and Brocade plus UNIX scripting via Perl Legato Networker.
* The candidate must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to drive account partnership and development. They must effectively communicate with customers by being open, sensitive to their issues, and understanding of their expectations. Finally the
* candidate must be able to team in a positive manner with a staff of tenured peers who currently support the site. There is a 7x24 on-call component to the job.
