JOB DESCRIPTION: Data Warehouse Architect / Data Modeler Our client is looking for an outstanding hands-on engineering professional who will play a major role in enhancing and supporting its data warehouse. The challenge begins with guiding the integration of the web based travel businesses across the globe. This is a unique opportunity and requires extensive experience in data modeling in a rapidly changing high data volume environment. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of data model development. You must have excellent communication skills and outstanding track record with the user community in order to be considered for this position. Responsibilities . Works with senior staff and business leaders to identify Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing opportunity areas within the business. Architects high level logical Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence solutions to business needs . . Works with business requirements analysts / subject matter experts to identify and understand requirements, frequently leading JAD sessions . Strong with data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schemas, highly normalized data models), and familiar with data modeling tools such as Power Designer or Erwin . Maps source system data to data warehouse models (source to target mappings) . Conducts ETL process design and sizing estimates for large scale data warehousing projects . Develops, tests, and implements extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes Experience and Attributes Desired: . BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent. . 5-10 years of data modeling experience, with at least 5 years as a data warehouse data modeler. . 3-5 years of experience developing dimensional data models. Proven experience in a high service level environment. . Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment. . Strong interpersonal, communication and client facing skills. . Ability to work closely with users and lead cross-functional teams. . Experience in working with Erwin . Past experience in a large-scale, custom-developed, e-commerce environment with high availability . Experience with Informatica, Teradata and Cognos a strong plus
