Description:
This project will consist of an upgrade to an existing internal corporate LMS (Learning Management System).
Background on what will be upgraded:
* Upgrade from Plateau version 4.2.1.2 to version 5.8
(involves running conversion scripts of two previous releases)
* Upgrade existing interfaces from approximately 10 other systems that feed the corporate training management system.
* Upgrade the existing ad-hoc interfaces for the corporate management system.
* Re-certify and reapply the corporate email notification bolt-on built by our client, which is multilingual
* Reduce the number of customizations from the vendor to increase the speed of upgrading future releases
* Retain the multilingual functionality of the application
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Strong vendor management skills:
- able to perform in SME capacity and champion corporate goals/objectives.
- Must be able to negotiate win-win outcomes
* Must ensure project is compliant with proprietary corporate quality system.
* Deliver the project on time to meet IS objectives
* Work with business resources across multiple time zones and languages
* Ability to effectively work with a project team consisting of:
corporate resources, vendor resources and consultants
* Manage the team to hit deliverable dates
* Possess a demonstrated track record of project delivery
* Ability to quickly resolve potential issues and track project issues according to corporate system development methodology
* Keep the stakeholders and management informed and updated on the progress of the initiative through verbal and written reporting and presentations.
* Manage the project to the established budget
* Balance production support aspects of the existing system
* Work with the business to ensure system changes are effectively
communicated via emails, sessions, and oversee the potential creation of CBT's for training on the new system
DESIRED SKILLS:
The ideal candiate would also have worked with:
* Plateau (the software vendor for our Learning Management System)
* At a medical company in a highly regulated environment
* Large scale implementations where the end-user population is 15,000 users
