We have immediate requirement for a candidate with the following skills:
Location: NYC
Duration: 1 Year +
Rate: Up to $60/Hr.
Description:
Performance and attribution is an integral part of the investment cycle in
Institutional Investment Management (IIM). Performance information is used
by many areas within IIM, including Portfolio Mangers, Marketing, Client
Services and the Internet. The Performance IT team is a global team with
members based across three office locations (London, New York and West
Conshokoken). We support a suite of 15 applications, most of which have been
developed in-house using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, Java, C/C++, VB,
PowerBuilder, Perl, UNIX Script, Sybase. The main focus this year is
Performance Link re-architecture. Performance Link is a global web based
application and provides a one-stop-shop for performance information across
IIM. There are currently 1200 registered users with 500 users using the
portal on a regular basis. The new Performance Link is developed using C#,
Asp.Net and Java SOAP/XML services.
Candidate Profile:
The successful applicant will be a strong technologist, responsible for all
aspects of the project life cycle. The role will also include the support of
assisting applications in the group. The candidate will work very closely
with users to define requirements and will need to develop good business
knowledge of performance, attribution and investment management.
Skills Required:
4+ years distributed application development experience
Strong in C#, ASP.NET, Java, C/C++ and Perl
Strong UNIX skills
Strong Sybase SQL and Stored Procedure
Experience of XML and SOAP
Experience of VB, PowerBuilder
Excellent analytical aptitude and good communication skills
****Addendum****
C++ is #1 priority, Java is a must have, C# is a nice to have, and they must
have a UNIX platform background
Senior management is looking for someone who has an interest in the finance
side, and can speak intelligently about general finance - equities, fixed
income, etc.
Understanding of performance, attribution and investment management
Strong mathematics background
